Wim Crouwel

I went to see the Wim Crouwel exhibition at the Design Museum on Sunday. It was Family Day and there was a poster workshop so I took the opportunity to vibe the kids* and draw some posters as well. I was particularly pleased with this one.

The exhibition is really good and definitely worth seeing. It makes a big difference seeing his posters in person. They really are beautiful.

* I was accompanied by one of my own so I wasn't being creepy, just showing off.

52 Spheres: The Saga Continues

I've just lost five minutes of my life changing '#' to 'no.' on all my 52 Spheres posts after deciding that the use of the '#' symbol to designate a number was an Americanism I wasn't comfortable using. I will take this opportunity to point out that 52 Spheres is now up to no. 25. I have also back-posted no. 23, with no. 24 to follow, after I missed both of them due to an important print deadline (about which I will post some information next week.

Holme Moss

Many thanks to all who came to my talk at the Loop Arts Fair yesterday evening. I always feel slightly self-conscious about talking about myself for 90 minutes, but examining about old and new work with an audience gives me a useful bit of perspective on what I am doing, and I am always appreciative of the opportunity. Thanks in particular to curator Jay Cover of Nous Vous for the invitation. It was also great to meet some O.G. Silas and Amos supporters in attendance.

I had a great ride this morning from Leeds to Manchester via the iconic climb up Holme Moss. I found the time to climb it both ways, but I was absolutely cooked by the end.

Leeds

I'm travelling to Leeds this afternoon to give a presentation at the Loop Arts Fair. I'm also planning a bike ride over Holme Moss to Glossop on Saturday morning if anyone wants to join me!
